Wilmington, North Carolina

Hipsters, breweries, bar hopping with a southern accent and an ocean back drop.

Scott and I recently stayed in Wilmington, North Carolina and had a great time eating and drinking our way through the city. We used Air BNB and stayed right on the River Walk with a view of Cape Fear and many passing boats. Wrightsville Beach is a short drive away which we trekked out to on a windy day.

Here are my favorites –

The Pilot House – Sit outside on the deck and enjoy seafood or southern cuisine. The heirloom tomato salad was delish.

Copper Penny- So good we ate here twice. Scott declared it “the best burger I have ever had” .

Ironclad Brewery- Tastings of their own brewed beer and other local fare. My favorite was the Not Your Father’s  Rootbeer which hails from Illinois. Awesome event space for those looking for a modern space.

The Peppered Cupcake- The shop boasts gourmet and unique cupcakes displayed in a vintage armoire that I wanted ( especially with all the deliciousness inside of it). I tried a true peppered cupcake with blueberry filling and a horseradish and buttercream frosting, it. was.epic. The owner and her husband were so sweet too!

City Market – A huge building with lots of different vendor shops in it. I found a cloche and an oyster shell wreath that I can’t wait to style.
